Good ergonomis
Computer have become
very commonplace because of their vesatility and efficiency. Many poeple spend
hours on their computer every day.
Computer use requires a lot revetive movement. Un
fortunately, this can cause discomfort and fatigue and even lead to
irreversible revetitive starain injures (RSI).
In the following pages, you will learn how to easily and efficiency lessen your risk of injury
while increasing comfort throught good ergonomis
CHAIR AND DESK
ü
adjust the seat height so that your feet rest
flat on the floor.
ü
Make sure that there is no pressure on the back
of the knees.
Ø
DESK
ü
Adjust the desk height so that your wrists can
rest comfortably on it.
ü
Your forearms should be level with the desk top
your upper and forearms should form a 90 degree angle or slightly more

Note : if you do not have an adjustable chair or desk, try using a lumbar support
cushion, a cushion on the seat or a footrest.
DISPLAY AND KEYBOARD
ü
Place the monitor dirctly in front of you at
about an arm’s length away,
ü
Adjust the top of the computer screen to a
little below eye level. Yo should be locking slightly downwords when you type.

KEYWORD AND MAOUSE
ü
Place the keyboard right in front of you ,
aligned with the mirror.
ü
Place the mouse next to the keyboard on the same
palne. When using mouse , keep your wrist stright and your upper arm close to
the body.
GOOD POSTURE
Good posture is the
key to comfort and health in your computer work. Check your posture using the
list below.
ü
Align your body n front of the keyboard and
monitor.
ü
Place your feet firmly on the floor or on a
foottrest.
ü
Relax your shoulders and keep your elbows close
to the body.
ü
Keep forearms and wrist in a stright line
(neutrsl posisition). Make sure that your wrist are not bent up or down, turned
inwards or outwards.
HEATLHY PARCTICES
ü
Take short breaks every now and then. Get up
form chair, strecth and move around.
ü
Vary the way your sit. Lean backwards and
forward, stretch your feet far forward or life them up.
ü
Listen your body! If you feel any tension or
pain, try to relieve it immediately with breaks, stretching and attention to
your posture.
ü
Dont’t stress your muscle too much when learing
to type. We recommend doing only a maximum of two lwssons A day. That is a
total of 10 exercises.
